Reporting unauthorised building work

You can report buildings that have no permit or are in breach of their permit without giving your name.

Time
Reports are examined without delay; if you give your name and address, you will be informed of the outcome within 30 days at the latest (Law No. 3071, Art. 7).

Who can apply

Anyone.

How it works

  1. Fill in the report form on the İmar ve Kaçak Yapı Bilgilendirme (zoning and unauthorised building information) page, or call the Zoning and Urban Planning Directorate: +90 (252) 242 30 09.
  2. Teams inspect the building on site; a building without a permit or in breach of its permit is sealed and the work is stopped.
  3. If the building is not brought into line with the permit within one month, the municipal executive committee (encümen) takes a demolition decision; the administrative fine is imposed within ten working days of the finding.
