The 2nd Gökova Sesame Harvest Festival has come to an end

We have completed the final day of our 2nd Gökova Sesame Harvest Festival, too, with a full programme of events.

Our programme began early in the day with the Best Sesame Producer Competition, the Tahini Making Workshop, Çıtırmek making (a local crispy bread) and the Most Delicious Sesame Dishes Competition, and continued with concerts by TRIOVA, ZEYN’EL and Gizem Aktürk. In the finale of the evening, we closed our festival with a concert by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra.

I wholeheartedly thank all our fellow residents who were with us at this wonderful festival, where together we celebrated the value of Gökova sesame, the labour of our producers and the culture of our region.

For their contributions, I thank first and foremost the Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Mr Ahmet Aras, as well as all our institutions, organisations and NGOs, and everyone who helped make our festival happen.

May the bounty of Gökova, the labour of our producers and our unity last forever.
