Akyaka, a neighbourhood of our district, has been awarded the “Best Tourism Villages 2025” title by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).
Our Deputy Mayor, Mr Arif Cem Cide, attended the award ceremony held in China on behalf of our Municipality and received the award from the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Mr Zurab Pololikashvili.
Our Mayor, Mr Mehmet Caner, stated that this important award is a source of pride for our district and our country, and thanked everyone who contributed.
With its traditional architecture, protected nature, hospitable people and its approach to sustainable tourism, Akyaka has become one of the notable names not only of our country but of world tourism.
This prestigious award shows that our natural beauty, our cultural heritage and our efforts to protect our local values are appreciated around the world.
